Purslane Quality Review
-
Many companies are using Dextrin as a carrier/filler. Dextrin is used as a binding agent in paper coatings, it is made from almost any starch source like corn, wheat or potatoes. Dextrin is a colorless, odorless starch that is treated with Hydrochloric Acid before use. Side affects of using Dextrin are diarrhea and gas pain.

Companies that have the lowest prices for Purslane are using rice powder as a filler, sometimes as much as 90% rice powder is added.
-
Other companies are extracting only from the leaves of the plant so they are missing out on the vast majority of the nutritional benefits in the rest of the plant.
-
The vast majority of producers are using the “solvent extract” method to make their Purslane Powder. The use of solvent to extract will modify and transform the chemical, biological and medicinal characteristics of the plant greatly.  During the process, the solvent extraction only ends when the concentration remaining in the solvent equals the concentration remaining in the extracted herb. This method only works for extraction of certain components of the plant and can only occur if the percentage of solvent is high and the amount of herb is very low, resulting in a finished extract that is extremely diluted and weak.
-
Many producers do not want you to know that they’ve added fillers. If you can’t easily find the ingredients and percentages listed with the product it’s because they’re trying to hide something from you.
-
Pure Purslane Powder should be dark green, if it’s light brown or yellow there is something added to it.

NATURAL PLANTATION uses a patented process where all of the plant except for the root is used. We do not use the extraction method so absolutely no solvents or chemicals or any other liquids are used in the processing of our powder. Our Purslane Powder is 100% pure with zero additives or fillers.
